SUNCOAST MENTAL HEALTH CENTER, INC. RECEIVES $10,000 FESTIVAL DONATION!

Vero Beach Wine + Film Festival, Inc. board members presented a $10,000 check to Suncoast Mental Health Center, Inc. CEO Debra Engle on Friday, June 7, at the CINEMA UNCORKED! Opening Night Awards + Screening.  VBWFF board member, Susan Keller Horn contributed $5,000 as a matching grant for the Vero Beach Wine + Film Festival, Inc. contribution.

The non-profit arts organization received support from Ned and Emily Sherwood, Monica Shotwell, and John Aruffo each giving $5,000; VBWFF board chairman Anthony Aruffo contributing $20,000, and board member Kelly Kite’s firm Kite Tax Lien Capital being a $20,000 contributor. The VBWFF and SMHC are grateful to those who value the importance of mental health awareness in our community.

In addition to providing an audience for independent wine and film makers, the Festival is a forum for raising mental health awareness. The Festival program of films that portray “a life worth living” is inspired by our Festival Beneficiary, Suncoast Mental Health Center, Inc.

Suncoast Mental Health Center, Inc. provides services for children and adults experiencing behavioral and/or mental health issues. Their staff consists of therapists, targeted case managers, and psychiatrists and its offices are in Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, and Okeechobee Counties, with an office at 1456 Old Dixie Highway in Vero Beach.

Untreated, or undertreated, mental health disorders can ruin, or end lives. But with proper treatment, people can live very happy, healthy, productive lives. Suncoast Mental Health Center, Inc. is saving and changing lives, every day.
